Ring-tailed lemurs are small monkeys with long, black and white curled tails. They are active during the day, live in small groups and like to cuddle up together. At night they sleep in trees. During the day they scavenge for fruit and leaves. The leader of a group of ring-tailed lemurs is always female. The only other animal groups led by females are hyenas and meerkats.
Fun Fact
When ring-tailed lemurs fight each other, they give off a powerful odour. The winner is the one with the strongest stench.
