The Black Pearl, formerly known as the Wicked Wench, was an infamous ship of the seven seas. The ship was originally a merchant vessel called the Wicked Wench before being raised from the depths as a pirate vessel and renamed the Black Pearl. With sails as dark as a moonless night, and a hull painted to match, the Black Pearl was every inch a pirate ship, built for action. Earning a legendary status under their ownership, the ship was most famously used by Jack Sparrow and Hector Barbossa, who both fought over the Captaincy during the Age of Piracy, destined for adventures.
There once was a real ship named Black Pearl captained by Henry Morgan, one of the world’s most notorious pirates. The Black Pearl which first sailed in 1669 fought many battles; the most famous of which was an invasion in Panama in 1671. The following year Captain Morgan was put in prison in England. Years later he returned to Jamaica as a judge and governor. Henry Morgan died in England in 1688 after a long illness.
